The Bible Home Tutors

Family agreement

What we agree with every family whose child learns with us: lessons, payments, what happens when a lesson cannot go ahead, the safety rules we ask you to keep, and how to stop.

Family agreement v1, September 2026. Last changed 29 September 2026.

Who we are

The Bible Home Tutors is a ministry founded by Pastor Daniel Olawande and Pastor Dr Oluwanifemi Olawande. We teach children the Bible, one to one, in their own homes in Lagos and online.

Our registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission is being completed, and the registered name and number will appear here as soon as it is. You can call us on 09131132071.

In this agreement, "we" and "us" means the ministry, and "you" means the parent or guardian who registers a child with us.

What we provide

One to one Bible lessons for children aged 6 to 15, taught from our curriculum by a tutor we have interviewed, checked and trained. Before meeting any child, every tutor has shown us their identity documents in person, been vouched for by two referees we contact ourselves and by a guarantor, completed our safeguarding training, and signed our Child Protection Policy.

Every child begins at School One. The first visit is the first lesson of the plan: the tutor finds out what your child already knows, agrees with you what you hope for, and begins teaching.

Lessons are in your home, or online by video call if you agreed to that when you registered. The price is the same either way.

After every lesson the tutor writes down what was taught and a next step for home. You can read it on your page, and we ask you to confirm the lesson happened as written.

Plans and prices

You choose how many lessons a week, and pay monthly. A month is counted as a twelfth of a year rather than four weeks, so each month buys a little more than four weeks of lessons:

PlanLessons each month
One lesson a week5
Two lessons a week9
Three lessons a week13

Our prices today are:

  • One lesson a week: ₦38,000 a month
  • Two lessons a week: ₦70,000 a month
  • Three lessons a week: ₦99,000 a month

If a brother or sister already has a paid plan with us, each child after the first pays less, by the discount on our current rates. You see the exact amount before you pay.

If our prices go up, we email you at least thirty days before. Nothing changes before the date we give, and you can stop before then if you would rather not pay more.

Paying

You pay by card, through Paystack. We never see or keep your card number.

The first payment is taken when you choose a plan. After that, we take each month's payment on the same date, at the price of the plan at that time.

Some cards cannot be charged again automatically. If yours is one of them, we email you each month to pay from your page instead.

If a payment does not go through

Lessons you have paid for

Each month's lessons can be used for six months from the day you paid for them. Lessons still unused after that expire.

You can ask for money back for paid lessons you have not used, from the Your rights page. Each unused lesson is valued at what you paid for it: that month's payment divided by the number of lessons it bought, rounded up in your favour. Lessons we added free of charge are not paid back in money. A coordinator will call you before deciding, and will agree with you whether the money goes back to your bank account or the lessons are given again later.

When a lesson does not happen

Whether a lesson counts as one of yours depends on why it did not go ahead as planned:

What happenedIs one of your lessons used?
The lesson was taughtYes
The tutor came, but no responsible adult was at homeNo. The tutor leaves, as our rules require, and we pay them for the journey.
An online lesson could not be recordedNo
Your child was not there, or not able to have the lessonYes, except the first time in each School
You cancelled at least a day beforeNo
You cancelled less than a day beforeYes, except the first time in each School
The tutor could not comeNo. We book a lesson to make up for it.
We could not provide the lessonNo

To cancel or move a lesson, please call us on 09131132071. A day before means at least 24 hours before the lesson starts.

We do not book lessons on public holidays. Where your tutor has another free day that week, the lesson is booked then instead.

Keeping your child safe

Every tutor signs our Child Protection Policy before meeting any child, and you can read it on our website. For those rules to work, we ask the same of you:

For lessons at home, we text you when the tutor arrives and when they leave.

Online lessons are recorded

Every online lesson is recorded from start to finish, by our video provider, Daily, and never by the tutor. When the tutor is not in the room with your child, the recording is how we keep the door open, and no online lesson happens without one.

Only our coordinators can watch a recording, and each time they write down why. Recordings are kept while your child has lessons with us, and deleted when your child's records are deleted, or sooner if you ask, unless the law or a safeguarding matter needs one kept for longer.

You agree to this by ticking the box for online lessons when you register. Without that, lessons are only in your home.

When we must report

If a child tells us, or we see, that they may be being harmed, the law requires us to report it to the authorities at once, under the Child Rights Act 2003, the Child's Rights Law of Lagos State 2007 and the Lagos State Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. We do not look into it ourselves first, and we may not be able to tell you before we report.

An independent safeguarding referee, outside the ministry, is told about every serious concern at the same moment as our coordinators.

Your family's information

Our privacy notice, on our website, says what we hold about your family, why, who handles it for us, and how long we keep it.

From the Your rights page you can see everything we hold, ask for anything to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw a permission you gave. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to our data protection officer, and to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Concerns and complaints

If you are worried about your child's safety or about a tutor, use Raise a concern on your page, or call us on 09131132071. If a child is in danger now, call the police on 112 first.

For anything else, a lesson, a payment, or the way you were treated, call us or tell a coordinator, and we will answer you.

Stopping

We may end this agreement if a safety rule in it is broken, after speaking with you, or when a month is left unpaid thirty days after the plan pauses, as set out above.

Changes to this agreement

If we change this agreement, we will email you what has changed and when it takes effect. The version you accepted, and when you accepted it, is kept with your registration.

The law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and of Lagos State.

Accepting this agreement

You accept this agreement by ticking the box when you register your child. We record the version you accepted, and the date and time.
